Berliner’s Otto and Astrid Rot aka Die Roten Punkte are back in town to celebrate the local release of their acclaimed Super Musikant album, which promises to be a ten-track high-energy feast of rock studded with rich veins of roll. From Rock Bang to Ich Bin Nicht Ein Roboter (I Am A Lion) to the chilling The 4:15 To Spandau Will Not Run Today the new record should drag you back to the days when CBGBs was the centre of the punk universe.
With a back story that’s a pure PR fantasy – orphaned at an early age; squats in Kreutzberg; homeless in Amsterdam and a baptism by fire in the underground rock scene of Berlin – the band are bringing their punk shenanigans to the Melbourne Fringe Festival.
The self proclaimed – œBest Band In The World’ are hauling their Plastic Bertrand, Kraftwerk and early Ramones influenced sound to Melbourne for a series of dates at Trades Hall from Wednesday 1st October through to Saturday 11th October.
