More Meredith sideshows
Fri 19th Sep, 2008 in Local News
With the Meredith Music Festival comprehensively sold out, all of us who missed out can ease the pain with two new sets of sideshows. All the way from New York City, droll troubadour Adam Green is doing a trio of dates, while Philadelphia’s “Viking vaudeville” five-piece Man Man make a racket in Sydney and Melbourne.
Having made a name for himself as one half of Juno darlings Moldy Peaches, Green is a prodigious soloist too. That might explain why he’s already on to album number five, Sixes & Sevens, with a reputation for deliciously oddball live shows.
Fellow Americans Man Man also have a new album out, Rabbit Habbits, and an on-stage arsenal that includes “clavinet, microKORG, sousaphone, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, flute, drum set, euphonium, Fender jazz bass, Danelectro guitar, xylophone, marimba, melodica and various percussive instruments including pots and pans and toy noise makers and horns.”
