The Swedes that called themselves the greatest band on earth and then made us all believe it, have just announced that they’ll be playing two intimate sideshows whilst in Oz for the Falls Festival. That’s right baby – The Hives are coming to shake their Nordic arses Dowunder.

It feels like a lifetime since Howlin’ Pelle Almqvistand bought his men to our shores but our legs are quivering with joy at what our favourite Swedes of the black and white brigade have in store. You’d be a chump to miss these shows.

Melbourne, The Forum – Monday December 29
Sydney, The Metro – Tuesday January 6

Delighted. Caught their three Melbourne solo shows in 2005. The BDO side-show at The Corner was unbelievable. The Hotel recently released a history and that The Hives show was ranked right at the top. The Forum gigs later in the year lacked the...

Ok, lemme get this straight... It's $70 + BF to see The Hives in Sydney but you could see them and Tegan and Sara and Soko and The Kooks (if that's what you like), just to name a few, at Sunset Sounds in Brisbane for $89? Hmmm......

I bought a couple of tickets to The Metro gig today. I wouldn't have gone, but a good friend of mine wanted to go and needed someone to go with. The Hives were great at BDO a few years ago, so it should at least be a fun gig. Scandinavians just...
