The second round line-up for Southbound 2009 has been announced in a fifty fifty mix of Oz and International acts to augment the already delicious menu on offer in Bussleton in the new year.
Coming in from the United States are Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, Santogold, Murs and South Rakkas Crew. There are a couple more joining the British contingent by the name of The Cribs (with Johnny Marr of the Smiths) and Late Of The Pier. From Sweden we’ll see Lykke Li, and from New Zealand Cut Off Your Hands.The next course is the Oz additions who all have a definite hippie protest or educational spice about them, and span multiple genres, starting with CW Stoneking, Ash Grunwald and Blue King Brown, hip hop act Bliss N Esso, Grafton Primary, Tame Impala, Dash & Will, Violent Soho, Drapht, The Autumn Isles and finally, pub rock veterans End Of Fashion are back in the game again.
These latest Southbounders join Franz Ferdinand, The Hives, The
Kooks, The Cat Empire, Gomez, Pete Murray, Tegan & Sara, The Grates, Architecture In Helsinki , Donavon Frankenreiter , Atmosphere featuring Brother Ali, Faker , Birds of Tokyo, Eli ‘Paperboy’ Reed & the True Loves, Jamie Lidell, Liam Finn, Karnivool, The Drones, TZU, Mystery Jets, Soko, A-Trak and Wolf & Cub in the New Year feast that is Southbound 09.
Still to be announced are the acts from Sonicbids and Stagebound as well as a guest act from the JB Seed Program DJs galore for the Groove Tent on Friday night, for campers only, and a sweet selection of vinyl fiddlers for the Coconut Club.
