Tegan and Sara on the side
Tue 9th Sep, 2008 in Local News
In Australia this New Years Eve period to play the Southbound/Falls/Byron Bay Festival trifecta, Canadian twins Tegan and Sara will also slot in select sideshows.
The beguiling pair was last here in 2007, flaunting fifth album The Con. All shows predictably sold out well in advance, with shining accolades from FasterLouder scribes. “Despite constantly changing instruments and playing 25 songs without a break, neither Tegan nor Sara, nor any of the other band members ever flagged in their energy or dedication to the performance,” wrote Perth reviewer samcore. Expect that same dedication from their 2009 return.
Tega and Sara play three sideshows in January, ably supported by The Jezabels and An Horse. Tickets go on sale September 11.
Thursday Jan 8 – The Metro, Sydney (All Ages)
Friday Jan 9 – The Palace Theatre, Melbourne
Sunday Jan 11 – HQ, Adelaide (All Ages)
