The Spiegeltent comes toSydney Harbour

For close to a century, The Famous Spiegeltent has been seducing audiences all over the world, but this spring it will be staged in its best ever location, the Sydney Opera House Forecourt.

Gorgeous! is a festival of music, comedy, cabaret and kids shows. It will feature 40 acts in 60 live performances from 17 October to 15 November. Two different shows will be staged daily Tuesday to Friday, three shows on a Saturday and four shows on a Sunday. All in all…it’s going to be one hell of a packed month!

Homegrown music will dominate the program with Australian icons such as Dave Graney, Dave McCormak and Tex Perkins to take the stage amongst others. Alongside these legends will be some of Australia’s new breed of singer songwriters including The Audreys, Lior, Old Man River and Holly Throsby.

“This is an exciting opportunity to give the people of Sydney the ultimate Famous Spiegeltent experience, where The Studio’s programming meets one of the most beautiful performance venues in the world, all set on the world’s most stunning harbour,” Sydney Opera House Chief Executive Richard Evans says in the press spiel.

Tickets to Gorgeous! go on sale September 4.

I saw Girl Talk at the Spiegeltent back in Jan. It was all kinds of fun. Arcade Fire and The National played on the same night. It's good to have choices like that
