MTV Kickstart Band CompetitionState Finals

Friday night at the Bakery sees the state final of the MTV Kickstart Band Competition, and battling it out between themselves to see who will go to the national finals will be The Bloods, Emcee Able, Tracksuit, Harlequin League and Genghis

For free entry, you have to go here and register your name and email address, and each of the friends you want to take will have to do the same.

Most of the bands would be happy for the support, but Genghis have put in a special request that you go along to shout some obnoxious things while they play their two songs. Their suggestions include:

“Not bad”
“Sellouts”
“Genghis Cuuuntz”
“Double G Attack”
“Adequate”
“You’re performance is underwhelming and I anticipate that I will leave unsatisfied”
“Robbie, I fucked your grandmother”

Charming. It seems they work better when they think everyone hates them… or something.

The winners on Friday night will head to Sydney to join Gold Coast finalists The Modems, and Melbourne’s Polo Club as well as the other state finalists who will be chosen this weekend.

The comp begins at the very un-rock n roll time of 7pm, so make sure you get there early so you don’t miss the fun.
