The Week That Was - Brisbaneedition

If you thought last week was a pretty big week for Brisbane music, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Death Cab For Cutie wrapped up their Australian tour (review and photos) and Panic At The Disco (review and photos) started theirs, and by all accounts, both bands put on terrific shows.

On the home front, the Hoodoo Gurus plyed their pub rock wares, and we were on hand to review and shoot all the action when these Aus icons hit the Zoo.

And for those who like their rock a little more recent, Magic Dirt (review and photos) and The Boat People (review and photos) backed up the Gurus over the next two nights to prove they’ve got some pretty ace moves themselves.

On the local front, The John Steel Singers continued on their recent winning ways, playing a free gig at QPAC, while Martin Martini and The Bone Palace Orchestra launched their new album at the Troubadour,

Griffifth University made it three from three with their rocken Live For Life show on the Gold Coast campus, while Beach House snuck into Brisbane under the radar for a tight set of atmospheric rock at the Troubadour.

And just when you thought the week couldnt get any more packed, rock legend Paul Weller overcame some last minute health issues to play a career-spanning set at the Tivoli, and you can check out our review to see what went down.
