The Cruel Sea’s James Cruickshank brings his second solo album Hello Human to Perth In September.
The album is an eclectic mix of gravelly bluegrass, sideways swamp, dark moody piano riffs, electronic driven beats, eerie percussion clicks and melancholy melodies. Experimenting with a vocal sampler Cruickshank draws you into a swirling kaleidescope of harmonies and beats, taking you on a journey into the altered reality of Cruickshank.
Hello Human is the result of six days sweating in a sarong in a shed, banging out rhythms with a wooden spoon, shaping his message in a labour of love and near-lunacy.
He will be playing at Mojo’s Bar on Friday August 29th and at the Hydey on Sunday August 31st.
