Undoubtedly one of the most unique identities on the UK hip-hop scene, Dizzee Rascal is heading back to Australia for his second tour of 2008 as one of the headline artists of the Parklife festival.

It won’t come a moment too soon for Dizzee’s local fans, as the rapper is riding high on the success of his latest single Dance Wiv Me, which features Calvin Harris and has topped the UK charts for more than a month. The track is released on Dizzee’s own Dirtee Stank label, and a sure fire sign that he remains a force to be reckoned with.

If you’ve been hoping for some sideshow Dirtee Stank with Dizzee, your prayers have been answered, as he’s squeezing in two club shows!

Fri Sep 26 – The Corner Hotel, Melbourne
Wed Oct 1 – The Metro, Sydney

Tickets are onsale Friday August 29th.

Well...he sure puts value on brevity. 55 minutes and he's outta there. I was behind the sound desk, but heard there was lots of aggro gurn and punch ups on the dancefloor.

We were on the first riser at the back of the dance floor and were johnny on the spot as it were for a punch up that occured whilst DJ Semtex warmed the crowd up a bit. I only saw that one. I thought it was a fantastic show (even if it was similar to...

I agree with the above, but I did feel it was a little bit of a cheese-fest at times. Some of his songs are fucking killer (I'm thinking the older ones, tbh), and others are a bit meh.

Well, it will take a lot to write a song as good as Fix Up, Look Sharp IMO. Although I really dig Maths and English...he didnt however do my fave tracks from that album...bit of a bummer.

I didn't go. I had seen him before, and don't dig his new stuff at all. I think everything I've heard lately is more than cringeworthy. To hear it live would probably make me fight some gurners too (and subsequently lose I'm sure)

There were surprisingly few gurners there that I saw Dex...there were quite a few whiffs I caught of spliffs though. Thats interesting that you dont like any of his new stuff...personally I think Maths and English as an album is far, far better than...
