A free seminar is being held Tuesday, August 5, 6pm-9pm at Corner Hotel Band Room for those planning to showcase at or attend the 22nd South by Southwest Music Festival & Conferences to be held March 18-22 in Austin, Texas. Band submissions and delegate registrations start the week of August 4.
It begins at 6pm with networking drinks, followed by a DVD of highlights of SxSW as well as feedback from bands and attendees at 6:30. At 7pm a panel of veteran music business delegates, media who’ve attended, government arts and music association staff will talk about what assistance is available, how to fit into its components (shows, conferences, trade fair), the best way to apply to showcase, getting other gigs when you’re there, and the ways to network.
The free seminar is walk-up with no pre-registration (do not call venue)
