Scars On Broadway at Big DayOut?
Mon 28th Jul, 2008 in Local News
The latest addition to FasterLouder’s burgeoning list of Big Day Out possibles is two-fourths of the disbanded System Of A Down – Scars On Broadway. While frontman Serj Tankian struck out alone, guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan formed S.O.B. Their self-titled debut album is out now in Australia, and could prove to be one of the year’s finest alt-rock releases.
When interviewing Scars On Broadway, FL’s Brendan Barnhill found out they have Australia in their sights for early 2009. Dolmayan revealed the band’s management is in negotiations with Big Day Out festival organisers.
“With System we played the Big Day Out festival twice and we also played some of our own shows on off days of the festival,” he said. “Right now we are working it into our plans as we would love to come back down there in your summer and play the Big Day Out again. We have our people talking to their people and I can promise you this – if it can be done, it will be done.”
This exciting development follows FasterLouder’s recent discoveries that both The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Simian Mobile Disco are angling for inclusion on the Big Day Out line-up. We wait in hope…
