Elder statesmen of rock ‘n rave Primal Scream have taken the wraps off their ninth album, Beautiful Future – and you can hear it streaming in full right here on FasterLouder.

The Glaswegian outfit invited some special guests to join them on this outing, including fiery Queens of the Stone Age mouthpiece Josh Homme and Lovefoxxx from Brazilian party agents CSS. To add an extra layer of intrigue, the record is produced by Björn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John and gun-for-hire Paul Epworth. The result is a potent cocktail of gritty pop, psychedelic rock and hard-edged beats – with frontman Bobby Gillespie as acerbic as ever. It might be a while before we next see Primal Scream on our shores, so for now we can content ourselves with their Beautiful Future.
