Those New York genre mash up merchants Le Tigre have announced two extra sideshows for their up coming tour with the Big Day Out. In addition to dates at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne and Gaelic Club in Sydney, they have also announced shows for Auckland and Brisbane. These dates are in between their performances at all six Big Days Out.

Le Tigre formed when Kathleen Hanna, front woman for grrl band Bikini Kill move from Olympia in Washington state to New York. She hooked up with Johanna Fatemann and Le Tigre was born. Drummer JD Samson was a last minute addition with their original drummer pissing off on the eve of their first national tour. Le Tigre’s music is distinctive and is a favourite of electro outfits for mash ups.

Thursday 20th January: Auckland, Kings
Monday 24th January: Brisbane, The Zoo
Saturday 29th January: Sydney, Gaelic Club
Thursday 3rd February: Melbourne, Corner Hotel
