Simian Mobile Disco for BDO?

Following FasterLouder’s recent discovery (via Anton Newcombe ) that the Brian Jonestown Massacre is angling for inclusion on the Big Day Out bill, our sister site inthemix has uncovered another potential player. If all things go to plan, we’ll be seeing production dream team Simian Mobile Disco bringing their live show down under in January.

Released last year, the guys’ debut album Attack Decay Sustain Release is seriously good fun. One half of the duo, James Ford, is quite the gun-for-hire too: he was the man behind the boards on both Klaxons’ Myths of the Near Future and Last Shadow Puppets’ The Age Of Understatement (he even drums at the Shadow Puppets live shows). Simian Mobile Disco has come here in DJ mode before, but the live thing should be a real treat.

“We’re currently trying to do the Big Day Out thing, that’s definitely on the cards,” Ford revealed in the ITM interview. “As long as all the logistical stuff happens we’ll be out there in January. We’re looking forward to it! We’ve heard the Big Day Out is a good time.”
