This September, all-ages love-in Coastfest returns to the shores of Lake Macquarie with a smorgasbord of blues, roots, folk and world music. Spread across three nights and multiple stages, Coastfest has attracted some first-rate names in 2008. Among those set to appear are Epicure, Jeff Lang, Kingtide, Endorphin and Afro Moses.

The festival espouses a come-one-come-all attitude, with plenty of non-musical attractions to please young and old alike. Think sailing, canoeing, theatre, visual arts, markets, organic food and all that jazz. Impressively, Coastfest is a not-for-profit venture run by volunteers, with all proceeds feeding into “future festival development and other community arts initiatives in the Central Coast region”.
