Cosmic adventurers Yeasayer may be every bit the ‘hype band’, but they’re far from flash-in-the-pan. The Brooklyn outfit is renowned for its psychedelic live show, and they’ll be treating us to it this October.
With no clearly definable genre to slot into, Yeasayer create a kaleidoscope of sound on debut album All Hour Cymbals. It’s a truly idiosyncratic record that the blogosphere has taken up and run with, earning the quartet a cult following. Their in-demand status was solidified by a joint US tour with MGMT and Man Man (can you imagine the indie-kid frothing!) and a support slot for Beck throughout Europe. Yeasayer is one of the many illustrious guests locked in for Sydney’s Great Escape Festival, but they’re sharing the love with Melbourne and Brisbane too. Get your dose before they go stratospheric.
