The launch of Schvendes’ very first album is upon us and we are, to be perfectly straight up, completely fucking excited about the whole thing.
Saturday July 5 will see Schvendes launch their beautifully honest full-length effort Sweet Talk Your Enemies at the Artrage Bakery Complex. All the songs that have become live favourites appear on the album including Twice the Man, Bring Out Your Dead and Repent and Repeat as well as a stack of other dark tales of Murder, Mystery and Mayhem. A string quartet will be joining the band on stage to complement their already full bodied sound.
Last time FasterLouder caught Schvendes playing live, we were immensely impressed with Rachael Dease’s literally cutting vocal delivery; She shattered an empty pint glass with her voice toward the end of the set. Luckily, the Bakery is used to having such talented vocalists perform, and serves all of its beverages in plastic out of concern for our safety.
The album is also new label Good Cop Bad Cop’s first full length release, and we hope to see many more from them soon as GCBC has been a force for good in Perth ensuring the live original music scene stays alive by creating opportunities for many venues to host new music.
To help them with this massive celebration will be good friends and label mates Sugar Army, along with The Slim Pickins and These Shipwrecks. You’ll be able to purchase the album on the night and be amongst the first to view the stunning artwork that enhances this finely crafted release. A national tour will follow, stay tuned for announcements.
