Tue 17th Jun, 2008 in Local News
The Next Big Thing competition kicked off at the Rosemount last week, with three new bands being selected as contenders for the next big thing to come out of Perth.
Metro Heat one at the Rosemount saw My Mad Flow return home victorious, with – œhonest melodious original’ rockers Apollo National taking out second place.
Heat two at The Rocket Room gave 18 year old Tree her chance in the sun where she wowed the crowd and judges alike and left them wanting to hear more, while Team Sport introduced a more intellectual feel to the evening and were awarded second place for their efforts.
Heat three favourite at the Whitesands was Boys Boys Boys! with their infectious rock, pop and electro stylings in a mixed bag of pure fun, while in second place were the innovative and creative Injured Ninja.
They will all compete in the semi finals coming up soon. Meanwhile, the heats continue this week to see who else could be a contender.
