The sheer number of great gigs in Melbourne each week threatens to wreck havoc on the hip pocket so the chance to see three great acts over the coming weeks without dropping a cent is welcome news.
First act on the schedule is former Moldy Peach and star of the Juno soundtrack Kimya Dawson. Both her Melbourne gigs at the Northcote Uniting Church Hall have sold out so her appearance at Polyester Records city store on Wednesday June 18th at 3:30pm should see a healthy turn out despite the awkward time.
Another international performer swinging through town, Barry Adamson, is also making an in-store appearance. Adamson was a member of both Magazine and The Bad Seeds and now trades in a noirish mix of soul, lounge, rock, funk, jazz, and blues. He’ll hit the stage down in Basement Discs on Thursday the 19th at 12:45 for anyone seeking a little sophisticated soul on their lunch break.
Finally the local heroes, festival favorites and Neighbors cameo-stars Little Red will play an in-store at Polyester on Friday June 27th. It’s the day before their highly anticipated debut album Listen to Little Red hits the shelves so the boys should be in high spirits and it promises to be a great show.
