The Silents To Scare the UKWith 23 Spiders

The Silents will be having one last gig on Saturday before embarking on a UK Tour for the release of 23. Having caught a loyal following in their web, the band have toured with southbound, and launched their debut album to critical acclaim, now they are ready to lure fans from overseas UK, beginning with the song that won over Australian audiences way back when.

Discussing the recent album release, Songwriter Lloyd Stowe reveals The Silents’ approach to music in general and it is clear that if they continue on this trajectory, this will be one of the last times they will play in informal surroundings to their home crowd.

“This is our beginning, acknowledging the loss of our younger selves and the fading of anything innocent and child-like, this album captures time for us in song… It will be difficult from this point onwards to visit that place again.”

Drummer Alex Board says the album is indicative of the band’s philosophy towards songwriting. “We have always distanced ourselves from trends, focusing on writing songs for ourselves and playing with feeling.”

They will launch the tour officially later this month at Metros in Fremantle, already a much bigger venue and the shape of things to come, so if you want to see them and perhaps snap up an autograph for your merch before they get too famous, head down to the Railway early on Saturday and catch Will Stoker & The Embers, Kill Teen Angst, Mile End, The City Watch and Offbeat Antics as well.
