The Boat People requestpermission to come aboard
Wed 4th Jun, 2008 in Local News
The Boat People have always flown just under the radar of mass popularity, gathering a commited fanbase without ever cracking the big time.
All that looks set to change with the release of the new single Awkward Orchid Orchard, from the highly anticipated forthcoming album Chandeliers.
To celebrate, the boys will be aiming their rudders squarely at the east coast, with shows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.
They also recently returned from the UK, where they played the Great Escape festival alongside the likes of Iron and Wine, The Wombats, Vampire Weekend and many more.
Fans can also head along to www.theboatpeople.com.au/free to download a copy of Awkward Orchid Orchard.

Thursday June 12 – The Toff in Town (Melbourne) w/ Hot Little Hands and Sophie Koh
Friday June 13 – The Vanguard (Sydney) w/ Cloud Control and Wons Phreely
Friday June 20 – The Troubadour (Brisbane) w/ Wind and Brackets and Edward Guglielmino
