The Wombats burrow back

Given the runaway success of their last Australian tour, it’s no surprise The Wombats are upgrading to bigger theatres this August.

The Liverpudlians scored themselves a certified festival anthem with Let’s Dance To Joy Division, and their debut album A Guide To Love Loss and Desperation has plenty more gems. Word is catching on mighty fast, and the band’s tour schedule in coming months is dizzying. After slots at Glastonbury, Wireless and T In The Park, they’ll roll into Splendour In The Grass well-oiled and ready to party. Expect the sideshows to sell out swiftly.

Let’s dance to The Wombats this August. Tickets on sale 4 June.

A pretty okay rock band.

"Kill The Director" is a great track but I wouldn't buy the album.

oh man they have just been so overhyped since 2007. it still amazes me how some bands actually get anywhere. marketing is the king that has killed a lot of good music.

Now, while we're on the subject of inarticulate...how about you use their or are you saying that the inarticulate musing is actually at a specified location? I will not stand for people who try to come off as learned and articulate, yet make very easily recognisable mistakes in spelling, context or grammar.

i suppose it depends on whether or not you like them. i think that a bunch of bands are overrated, but there's a whole lot of people who will tell you that the Wombats are worth all the hype, especially as it relates to their live show.

yeah i guess everyone enjoys different sounds. i just find them so stale and unoriginal. so much out there that is the same. that british pop sound you know, thats being so overcirculated at the moment... guess thats why its called pop!

haven't seen their live show however may do when i head to a festival in london in a couple of weeks time.. see what its all about and such. my hopes arent very high though on any backflip with my opinion. but guess thats just my opinion.

just feel like im slowly becoming more and more disillusioned with what new music there is out there to offer... occassionally though am pleasantly surprised.

But The Wombats album is strong start to finish - i definitely recommend seeing them when you're in London, I can't guarantee you'll be turned around, but if you're not, then there is no hope for you :)

haha well you see, i couldnt even sit through the whole album. yes im serious it is that bad for me. funny how everyone's ears are trained to like different sounds :) my tastes have just changed so dramatically over a year.
