The Gaslight Anthem Tour

Selected as one of Alternative Press’ 100 Bands To Watch in 2008, The Gaslight Anthem have accomplished more in two years than most bands have in a decade. Their first full-length album Sink or Swim rated in dozens of – œbest album this year’ lists thanks to 12 tracks striking in authenticity and poignant blues-inflected lyricism.

The Gaslight Anthem played over 200 shows in the US and Europe last year, alongside some of the biggest names in the punk scene, including Against Me! The Loved Ones and The Draft. Exuberant performances, their passionate, rapidly multiplying, fans and recent EP; Senor and the Queen have contributed to their sudden widespread acclaim.

Gaslight has just finished their next full-length album, which is set for release in August. The ‘59 Sound sees the band step up as musicians and songwriters, serving Springsteen flavoured punk. The result seems poised to both gratify and astound long-time fans and new listeners alike.

The Gaslight Anthem’s Australian tour kicks off in Perth on July 25 at the Hyde Park Hotel, and continues around the country, supported by Melbourne’s A Death In The Family. Tickets go on sale May 21.
