One of the sure-to-be-highlights of Splendour In The Grass ’08, South Carolina’s Band Of Horses has locked in sideshows for Melbourne and Sydney.

Band Of Horses is a relatively young prospect, but its pedigree is well-proven. Ben Bridwell and Mat Brooke formerly made up the nucleus of cult favourites Carissa’s Wierd. When that band folded in 2003, the pair translated its talent for contemplative, evocative songwriting to Band Of Horses. Bolstered by the reception to their most recent album, Cease To Begin, the five-piece has a suitably epic pre-Splendour schedule; including T In The Park, Roskilde Festival and Glastonbury. Now, that’s how you know your star has risen.

Don’t miss your chance to see Band Of Horses in relatively intimate mode…you may not get another. Tickets to the sideshows go on sale Friday 30 May.

Sunday 3 August – Billboard, Melbourne

Tuesday 5 August – Metro Theatre, Sydney
