Cyco Miko To Appear InBrisbane!
Fri 12th Nov, 2004 in Local News
Brisbane skate punk fans are in for a rare treat as Suicidal Tendencies, No Mercy and Infectious Grooves lead singer and front man Mike Muir aka Cyco Miko has chosen the Indie Temple in Brisbane as the location for the world premiere of the latest Suicidal Records project Return to Venice. Tracks from the album will be presented by Cyco Miko himself during a very special one night only spoken word show.
Not only will fans get to hear tracks from the album before anyone else (and even before some are mixed!) but also bonus tracks that won’t be on the album, the stories behind the songs and the bands and according to the website ”...the original Suicidal Tendencies era that they came from, the evolution of the songs and band, and where the band came from and where it’s going. Good Stuff. Oh, and of course he’ll dish out a few opinions, ideas, philosophies, and probably throw in a rambling diatribe or two about the hypocritical revisionist movement that has entered this era. Plus a bad joke or two, lol.”
The upcoming album includes two new No Mercy songs and the first new Los Cycos recordings since the original Welcome to Venice LP [Suicidal Records, 1985] a compilation featuring both bands as well as No Mercy, Beowülf, Excel and of course Suicidal Tendencies. Over the years Los Cycos did one demo that remains hidden away, however two of those songs will finally be recorded and released on the new project making this not only a significant evening but also a significant album.
As if this wasn’t exciting enough the event is also going to be filmed for a future Cyco TV DVD so this is your best chance to get your mug on the little big screen:
“The new cd won’t be out till next year, but this event will be filmed so that hopefully it will be part of a Cyco TV DVD or possibly packaged with the new cd, that’s why we needed to do it so far in advance of the release date.” This is sure to be a night you’ll never forget, pure Cyco time!
Be there at the Indie Temple on Thursday November 18th, tickets available from Rocking Horse and Skinnys.
