At fifteen years old, The Brian Jonestown Massacre has lost none of its fire. The iconic band has announced it will be returning to Australia in August for what is sure to be a volatile and exhilarating run of shows.
Despite a succession of line-up changes, the Brian Jonestown Massacre has always had Anton Newcombe at its core. The infamous tearaway has seen the group through 13 albums over 15 years, culminating in this year’s full-frontal assault My Bloody Underground. Each offering has a fiercely maverick spirit, constantly re-shaping the psych-rock template.
Onstage, Newcombe is as unpredictable as he is on record. The band’s last Australian tour was marked by his explosive nature – even resulting in a few kicked heads. But you don’t go to a Brian Jonestown Massacre show to be serenaded.
Experience the Brian Jonestown Massacre at the following venues in August.
Wednesday August 27 – The Arena, Brisbane
Friday August 29 – The Metro Theatre, Sydney
Saturday August 30 – Hi Fi Bar & Ballroom, Melbourne
