Antipodean powerhouse Shihad boasts a live show that puts other rock bands to shame. After years of heavy touring, the four-piece hasn’t lost any of its vigour. With a new album Beautiful Machine to draw from, Shihad will be loading up its arsenal and hitting select venues in June. FasterLouder is coming along for the ride…and will be hanging on for dear life.

The Wellington boys recorded their follow-up to 2005’s Love Is The New Hate in Melbourne, with the assistance of master engineer Alan Moulder – whose mixing credits include U2, My Bloody Valentine and Smashing Pumpkins. Beautiful Machine is set for a 17 May release, and you can expect its songs to translate to the stage with that signature Shihad grunt.

Joining this juggernaut of a tour are the hotly-tipped ones-to-watch Young and Restless and Calling All Cars. Be part of the Beautiful Machine at the following shows:

Yes it is catchy and pretty good, but a departure none the less from their earlier work. I;m keen on getting to the HIFI show in Melbourne, they never disappoint.

New album is terrible. I listened to it once, and have no desire to listen to it in the near future. Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan, but their new squeaky-clean image is just.. bollocks.

They were great last month at the Zoo in Brisbane, but I'm gonna give them a miss this time as Parkway Drive are playing the same night.

cant wait to see them again this year...

i managed to get a promo copy of the album...and have to say it is definately a departure from their old stuff...very very different...and a not so angry shihad anymore...
