This weekend’s rock – œn roll love-in CherryRock008 has moved from AC/DC Lane and Cherry Bar to the more liquor licensing-friendly climes of The Palace Theatre (formerly The Metro).

While having a big – œol party in the street has its undeniable appeal, there would’ve been a pesky problem of, well, no booze. Cherry Partner James Young explains, “CherryRock008 could go ahead at Cherry and AC/DC Lane as a – œdry’ event with no alcohol served and we’d get lynched by the Melbourne rock pig fraternity. The show must go on and the VBs must flow on, so we’re going around the corner to the Palace Theatre for this year’s Cherry Rockin’ event.”

The same smoking line-up will be on show, with the ten “major” acts playing The Palace between 3pm and 10pm, while hot young things play the Ding Dong Lounge between midday and 3pm.

Now go forth and plan your day, content in the knowledge that your happy juice will not be jeopardised.
