Cut Copy debuts at #1 with 'InGhost Colours'

One of the most popular acts from the Modular Records stable returned last week with their sophomore album, and it’s been one of the most hyped releases of ‘08 so far. And it seems like the general public caught on – In Ghost Colours has debuted at #1 on the Aria charts this week.

This is an impressive feat for any Australia band, let along an indie/dance crossover act like Cut Copy. “It’s such an incredible honour,” said frontman Dan Whitford after hearing the news. “We’d never really aimed for or expected this kind of response to our album release. But it probably says a lot about how Australian audiences have changed in the time since we have started as a band.”

The band are currently on tour with the V Festival, which debuted in Sydney and Gold Coast over the weekend and is due to wind up its run in Melbourne and Perth next weekend. After that the band will be heading back overseas for another shot of international touring, so catch ‘em while you can!
