The fifth annual Moonee Valley Youth Week Festival is back with its biggest year yet. This year the festival will be held on Sunday April 13th, which co-incidentally marks the conclusion of National Youth Week.

This Australian Government, State, Territory and Local Government initiative is staged annually at Queens Park in Moonee Ponds (Victoria). Fresh into its fifth year, the festival has fast developed into Australia’s largest Youth Week event, and is noted as one of the biggest youth specific festivals in the country. It has seen over 18,000 young people travel far and wide to enjoy over 150 bands perform. The 2008 Festival will be no exception!

With a commanding line up of local and national acts, the one day outdoor event will feature cultural events, music, art, photography, film and the inclusion of more sporting activities to cater for as many young people as possible, as well as market stalls, extreme sport demonstrations, collaborative street art exhibitions, attractions, an array of food vendors, information stalls, giveaways and more… All for free.

The first acts announced for this years event are Cog, Her Nightmare, Bagster, Rook, Mz Ann Thropic, The Wrath, The Basics, Lemonsmile, Rainbird, Perfect Reason and Yesterday’s Epiphany.
