Wind&Brackets win theirbracket

Four of Brisbane’s best local bands came out to shine on Thursday night, and although Wind&Brackets managed to make it through to the grand final of the Garage 2 V, it was only by the narrowest of decisions.
They held off fierce competition from the John Steele Singers, Grand Atlantic and the surprise act of the night Mikowai, who nearly stole the prize, despite this being their first ever live performance. Expect big things from Mikowai, who will have an album coming out soon.
But the enigmatic presence of frontman Tommy Ivo, backed up by some nice hooky-yet-dark rock songs won over the judges, who sent this local act to Sydney this coming Thursday to take on the nation’s best for the chance to open the main stage at all of the V-Fest shows coming up at the end of the month.
