Garage to V Sydney winnerannounced

The Garage to V Sydney heats went down at Spectrum last night, with four ace bands battling it out for a spot in the final. It was a hotly contested field, but as is the way with these things there can only be one winner…

That winner, we’re happy to announce, is Cassette Kids. Coming on last, the raucous four-piece got the crowd squealing like schoolgirls. They followed a consummate run of performances from Man Ray, Lions At Your Door and Tennis, so our hearty congratulations to all the bands. Cassette Kids proceed to the final, to be held at Oxford Art Factory on Thursday 13 March.

Pfft -

biggest wanker crock of scenester shite.

I thought the most talented band was supposed to win - not the most modular.

Lions and Manray rocked the walls off that place, CK are dull - i suspect they blew at least one of the judges.

I think you'll find that you are sorely sorely mistaken my friend....The most talented band did win!!!

A.Yes Man Ray were good but thats about it...I didnt know Mercy Arms needed a cover band already? And i definitely don't think Kirin J. Callinan needs a look a like already either, yes both image and musically ; yelps a la end of "Uptown Addres"? cringe...what an absolutey unimaginative perfomance, it's every recent Indie band stereotype thrown in to one band...

B. There is a damn good reason Lions At Your door have been around for so long and still have gone nowhere...and for gods sake who has a song named after your own band? One or the other please.

C.Tennis were great but lack of experience let them down...Only having just released there demos and such..Playing entire songs out of tune and sync arent gonna get you on the V Festival bill trust me...But they will be one of the best bands in Oz this year..

Cassette Kids had a level of professionalism, energy and innovative sound that the Sydney scene is lacking...All instruments sounded absolutely ace, and the singer had an effing belter of a voice..Every note was hit to a T..What a great band, one that doesnt rely solely on word of mouth or image to get them where they are in a matter of months...Cassette Kids defninitely deserved to win..I think they will go all the way

And i think you're just pissed off that the cum u guzzled down from the judges was all for nothing..
