Surprise! Soundwave 2008 is coming to NEXT as part of a string of – œSidewave’ shows hitting Melbourne throughout the festival. Both Madine Lake and Halifax will play a very special – œSidewave’ show at NEXT on Thursday February 28. Not only that, the night will feature guest DJs from other amazing international acts on the Soundwave bill including members of Still Remains and The Matches.

To celebrate – œSidewave’, NEXT will be giving away albums by Madina Lake, Still Remains, Killswitch Engage and Shadows Fall – all thanks to Roadrunner Records.

Chicago’s Madina Lake will hit Australian shores for the first time as part of the 2008 Soundwave Festival. The band have earned themselves a growing worldwide fan base with their high-energy electric rock tunes, extensive touring and close-to-the-heart story telling. Don’t miss your chance to see them up-close and personal.

Label-mates with the likes of Hellogoodbye and New Found Glory, Californian punks Halifax will join Madina Lake at NEXT for this special – œSidewave’ show. Many bands have tried over the years, but few have managed to bridge the great divide between rock, punk and metal with their hearts and hopes in tact quite the same as Halifax. NEXT continues to support great live music, and show love to its punters by keeping the entry price at just $10, or $8 on a host list. Weekly cheap drinks include two Jagerbombs for $15, $2.50 pots, $4 basic spirits, plus all the NEXT DJs will be spinning your favourite punk, rock, metal and party tunes until the early hours of the morning!
