These artists will be in the running for the $25,000 cash prize as donated by PPCA (Phonographic Performance Company of Australia).

When the prize-winner is announced on Thursday March 13, one of these acts will join The Drones and Augie March and make Amp history.

The winner of the third annual Australian Music Prize will not be determined until Thursday March 13 – the day of the announcement event in Sydney. On this day, all 22 judges will gather as a group, to listen and discuss the Short Listed titles and determine a winner for immediate announcement.

One of these 10 artists is also in the running to receive the Red Bull Award – In Recognition of Outstanding Potential. The award acknowledges an artist from the Short List that The Amp considers to have a big, bright future in music both here and overseas. The recipient of the Red Bull Award will be announced in early March and will receive $15,000 of career-building support.
