ARIA-nominated for Best Blues and Roots Album, and winner of the AIR Award for Best Independent Blues & Roots Release, the inimitable CW Stoneking has made a real stir since the release of his debut album, King Hokum.
Attracting the attention of international audiences, with King Hokum being released in Europe on Voodoo Rhythm Records, and a subsequent continental tour in 2007 making waves at festivals and headline shows alike, Australian audiences have seen him support Paul Kelly nationally; perform at The Famous Spiegeltent, Queenscliff Music Festival and most recently selling out a suite of Christmas shows at The Toff in Town.
At this, his biggest headline show to date, CW Stoneking and His Primitive Horn Orchestra will launch the King Hokum Records label. Set up by CW himself to re-release the King Hokum album (now distributed by Shock), later this year King Hokum Records will release a brand new CW Stoneking album, which is due to be recorded in a wool shed in the Victorian countryside this autumn.
Don’t miss this opportunity to see CW Stoneking and his Primitive Horn Orchestra before they head into the studio to record a brand new album, soon after taking the Hokum sounds back to Northern hemisphere audiences for the spring and summer.
