Steadfast in its mission to bring live music to regional Australia, the Groovin’ The Moo festival is back in 2008. The all-ages event revisits the town of Maitland, whilst adding an extra date in Townsville.
After last year’s shindig in Maitland sold out a month in advance, organisers are certain 2008 will be just as Groovin’. Some of the artist highlights include electro-pop duo The Presets and rock institutions Spiderbait and Gyroscope.
“The lineup on the main outdoor stages includes some of the most exciting live acts Australia has to offer from across all styles of music,” enthuses Stephen Halpin from Cattleyard Promotions. “It’s always a great thrill when we see the final list of bands and get the chance to start spreading the word.”
Having conquered NSW, Groovin’ The Moo will then be replicated in far North Queensland.
“We’ve been looking at Townsville for a while and decided to bring the Moo up north in 2008,” adds Halpin. “The feedback we have received from the folks in and around Townsville has been really positive so we are very confident that a big crowd will come out.”
