Anyone hoping to get a good night’s rest before heading to the Big Day Out on February 3 should close this window right now.
James Lavelle, the creative mind behind UNKLE, will be warming up for his band’s live set in the Boiler Room with an exclusive set behind the Death Disco decks at Amplifier and Capitol the night before.
Lavelle’s CV is like a wet dream for music enthusiasts everywhere. He’s had the likes of Thom Yorke, Richard Ashcroft and Josh Homme guest on UNKLE records; he’s the head of the Mo Wax label and calls Bjork, Ian Brown, DJ Shadow and Massive Attack mates. His live sets at London’s Fabric are now legendary and the bootlegs he’s put out prove he lives up to all the hype.
Entry is just $10 and Lavelle is playing from midnight until 2am – but it’s door sales only so rock up early to avoid missing out.
