More bands for Blues & Roots

Ray Davies, Cat Power and Bunny Wailer are among the latest acts to have signed up for this year’s West Coast Blues and Roots Festival.
A founding member and frontman for seminal British pop act The Kinks, Davies’ addition to the bill puts him up there with the festival’s biggest names and he’s sure to start countless huge crowd sing-alongs to tracks like Lola, Waterloo Sunset and The Village Green Preservation Society.
Along with Davies, Cat Power and Bunny Wailer, WA music fans will be treated to Australian icons The Cruel Sea for a rare festival appearance. And the list goes on: Jason Mraz, Jeff Lang and Ivan Zar and OAR.
There’s some bad news for fans of Brandi Carlile though – she’s been forced to pull out due to ‘scheduling issues’. There have also been a few minor lineup alterations, with G Love and Special Sauce and Seasick Steve moving to Sunday and Lior changing to the Saturday.
They join an amazing bill also featuring John Fogerty, Sinead O’Connor, Buddy Guy, Ian Brown, Don McLean, Gotye, Ozomatli and many, many more. for full details check out the gig guide or hit up www.sunsetevents.com.au.
