After playing the Meredith festival this weekend, Mr Confrontational himself, Andrew WK, will visit Perth next week for not one but two gigs.
The modern-day renaissance man, who is best known for the striking cover art to 2001 album I Get Wet (does the term ‘nosebleed’ ring any bells?), will perform a spoken word show at the Bakery next Tuesday before showing off his musical talents at his end of tour party at Shape the following night.
The Bakery gig is an all-seated affair, so tickets are strictly limited. Andrew will be presenting a lecture as well as holding an open discussion with musical interludes.
The Wednesday gig at Shape is an all-musical affair, with Bone and Chris Cobilis joining the bill. It’s also the launch of Sucky, Shape’s Wednesday night party night, so there are plenty of DJs lined up to keep you entertained.
Tickets for the Bakery show are $15+bf, available from Moshtix, Planet, Mills, Jumbo, Galaxy and Rockeby Records. Tickets for the Shape gig are $12, available at the door only.
