Local acts confirmed for BDO

The Stems and The Dirty Secrets top the list of local acts announced for the Perth installment of this summer’s Big Day Out on February 3.
For The Stems, it will be yet another chapter in the band’s remarkable second innings, following the release of Heads Up, the long overdue follow-up to their 1986 debut LP. And for The Dirty Secrets, the BDO will mark the start of a year that’s sure to include plenty more in the way of overseas visits and high profile supports.
And there’s more. National Campus Band Competition winners Will Stoker and the Embers receive their prize when they hit the local stage, as do Harlequin League, who scored their spot via the Next Big Thing band comp. Heavy hitters Dyscord will also front up alongside Sex Panther, Captains of King, The Watts, The Takers, J Nitrous, DJ Sardi, Petrosex and the WA winner of Triple J’s Unearthed.
They’ll join a stellar bill that includes the likes of Rage Against the Machine, Bjork, Arcade Fire and Silverchair as well as the likes of Battles, UNKLE, Grinspoon, Hilltop Hoods, Spoon and plenty more. For full details check out the gig guide.
Limited tickets are still available via www.ticketmaster.com.au and the usual retail outlets.
