Competition heats up for JAward
Wed 28th Nov, 2007 in Local News
One of the most sought-after awards in Australian music is undoubtedly the J Award, for triple j’s Australian album of the year. 2007 was a great year for Australian music, something that made the judge’s task of picking finalists rather arduous. The Panics, Urthboy, Josh Pyke, John Butler Trio, Silverchair, The Vasco Era, Architecture in Helsinki, British India, Katalyst and Midnight Juggernauts were already announced as nominees, with the remaining 3 spots still up for grabs- until today. Pnau, Bumblebeez and Grinspoon have just been added to the already impressive pool of contenders. I am certainly not envious of the judges who only have a few more days to hash out who the lucky band will be December 7 at the Hopetoun Hotel in Sydney. Stay tuned to FasterLouder for the results!
