Silverchair, Spoon and UNKLE top the list of names confirmed in the second lineup announcement for this summer’s Big Day Out festival.
Fresh from their huge night at the ARIA Awards, Silverchair return to the BDO for the first time since 2002. With Young Modern named Best Album and Straight Lines taking the gong for Best Single, Silverchair’s return to the top of the charts also makes them Australian rock’s hottest property as we enter festival season.
Along with indie-popsters Spoon and UNKLE’s dynamic live set, Augie March, Brand New, Regurgitator and Anti-Flag will line up for the sumer’s biggest rock roadshow. And there’s even more. Karnivool, Carl Cox, Pnau, Kate Nash, Josh Pyke, beXta, Shy Child, Gyroscope, Enter Shikari, Operator Please, Goodwill, Krafty Kuts & MC Dynamite, Die! Die! Die!, Blue King Brown, Dr Octagon with Kutmaster Kurt, British India, Aceyalone, Krill and Tom Morello’s acoustic project The Nightwatchman.
And to jog your memory, the first announcement of bands included: Rage Against the Machine, Bjork, Grinspoon, Arcade Fire, Hilltop Hoods, Billy Bragg, Paul Kelly, LCD Soundsystem, Sarah Blasko, Faker, Midnight Juggernauts, Dizzee Rascal, Something With Numbers, Battles and Cut Off Your Hands.
