Liam Finn is touring

With 126,000 new frequent flyer miles under his belt, Liam Finn returns to Australia for an extensive tour with support from Sydney’s theredsunband.

Since recording, producing and mixing his own solo debut in January, Liam has spent the year bounding between the U.K, U.S, Australia and New Zealand performing his chaotic yet intimate one man band renditions of his album I’ll Be Lightning.

“This will be my third trip back to Australia this year, but the first since the album has actually been released so I am very excited about these shows” states Liam through his well travelled beard.

Liam’s unique live performances with back up singer and Autoharp player extraordinaire E-J Barnes, involve him looping guitar parts, bass lines, even psychedelic theremin to create bombastic walls of sound. These loops bubble beautifully under his honest songs and reach points of such intensity that Liam even thrashes away on a drumkit like a man possessed.

“No two shows are the same” Liam says. “It has been constantly evolving all year and it’s so enjoyable to let the spontaneous moments guide the show… absolutely anything can happen”.
