A pioneering event in the UK, the Don’t Look Back concert series is coming to Australia this summer, courtesy of FEEL and All Tomorrow’s Parties!
The Don’t Look Back concept, which has its roots in the famed All Tomorrow’s Parties festival, invites seminal acts onstage to perform their classic albums in their entirety. The Stooges were the first participants, running through all of Funhouse at London’s Hammersmith Apollo, and since then several other greats have followed suit, including Belle and Sebastian playing If You’re Feeling Sinister and The Dirty Three performing Ocean Songs with Nick Cave on piano.
Now it’s our turn to experience this rare phenomenon. From mid-January 2008, a host of acclaimed local and international bands will be taking part in the Australian premiere season of Don’t Look Back. Among the stars playing their defining LPs from start to finish are Sonic Youth, Low, The Scientists, Ed Kuepper and Died Pretty.
Feast your eyes on the full details below. All shows go on sale Wednesday 14 November unless otherwise stated on the Don’t Look Back website. Keep checking FasterLouder for further announcements.
