Aldous grace the Empress inNovember
Thu 1st Nov, 2007 in Local News
Aldous are a band with many faces – seven of them, actually. Playing their unique blend of eccentric pop, you can expect to hear raucous horns, four-part harmonies and hand-claps, all checked by smart songwriting. Built from a love of – œ60’s pop, Wilco -esque soundscapes and indie rock, the likeable lads twist all this with a jazz flair and the occasional off-the-wall sax solo.
After playing a slew of dates around the traps, Aldous are embarking on a Thursday night residency at the Empress throughout November. Here they’ll be playing with some local luminaries including The Greasers ( fronted by Dom from Little Red ), Tom Flatman from Durbeyfield and Like Bears, releasing their debut EP and giving away an at-the-gig only recording of some new tunes.
