Bachelorette's Bringing Blendof Folk and Psychedelic Pop
Thu 25th Oct, 2007 in Local News
Bachelorette, the alter ego of Annabel Alpers, is coming to Sydney and bringing her unqiue blend of folk and psychedelic pop with her. Her debut album, Isolation Loops (out now on Mistletone), is already making waves in the indie music scene of her native country, New Zealand. Alpers went back to her roots for inspiration, recording and mixing her album solo in a remote Canterbury Plains hut built by her great-grandfather. Vintage instruments, electronic and other (even banjos make an appearance), help construct her enigmatic sound both in the studio and on stage. Bachelorette’s energetic and dynamic performance features this ability to seemlessly switch between and harmonize with multiple instruments.
