Best known for donning a bloody nose on the cover of his 2001 breakthrough album I Get Wet, the intense Andrew W.K. has been straying from the stage and gravitating towards Universities across the United States where he has been conducting free-form lectures. While letting the performer “educate” at respectable institutions might sound a little crazy, out of the classrooms rose the inspiration for his new “one man show”. The tour is not what one would expect from W.K., but then again when has he ever been predictable? In fact, the show is better described as a set of stream of consciousness interactions with the audience than as a concert. There are musical interjections intermixed with the discussions and hi jinxes, which promises you have never seen a show quite like this one. Interestingly, W.K. improvs each show so you quite literally have never seen a show like it before. Something out of control is bound to happen when a stage and a microphone are relinquished to rocker Andrew W.K., and his “one man show” is shaping up to be no exception.
