To celebrate the recent release of a split 12” vinyl with Brisbane band Arrows, Melbourne indie group with the longest band name ever – These Hands Could Separate The Sky will play a huge show at the Arthouse on Friday November 2. Also performing on the night will be Arrows, Blacklevel Embassy and a special appearance by The Nation Blue.

After recently supporting international giants Pelican (US), Sabertooth Tiger (US) and Japanese rockers Mono, THCSTS have developed their own style of emotional instrumental rock – a sound which intrigues audiences and offers them an escape from the overcrowded mainstream scene. Influenced by bands including Race Car Riot, Mineral, The Gloria Record, Christie Front Drive, Sunny Day Real Estate, Joan of Arc and Boys Life, THCSTS have shown that their self-motivated attitude and do-it-your-self style is not to be overlooked.

The forty-minute split 12” release was recorded at Three Phase Studios in Brunswick by Scott Taylor and Dan McKay from The Nation Blue. It took just one week for the two bands to lay down the five tracks. The result is a captivating mix of melodic instrumental rhythms and emotionally poignant tracks.

Behind the successful release of the band’s third album, Protest Songs in March, and a very eventful international tour through South American and Japan in August, The Nation Blue will make a special appearance at the launch. Known for their blood-and-sweat live shows, The Nation Blue will bring their high-voltage energy and unique charisma to Friday’s Arthouse show.

The 12” split vinyl is out now through Indoor Children and is available with a bonus compact disc version online here as well as at all good independent records stores or at the launch.
