Soft Tigers achieve debutAmbitions
Thu 18th Oct, 2007 in Local News
Soft Tigers will release their debut album Gospel Ambitions this weekend, through Below Par/EMI.
Gospel Ambitions is a raucous yet charming release from the Sydney-based group. Combining samples, layered vocals and catchy melodies, Soft Tigers produce unashamedly fun pop songs that touch on misspent youth and teenage desire.
Recorded using an array of instruments, including acoustic guitar, drum machines, hand-percussion and melodica, Gospel Ambitions is a relaxed and intimate debut release. The album was self-recorded by the band in old weatherboard houses in Bronte and on the NSW south coast, and beautifully incorporates sounds such as backyard noises and between-track banter.
To celebrate the release of Gospel Ambitions, Soft Tigers will team up with Operator Please and Van She in November, to play tour dates across the country.
